Price

I bought my Sensyne 10” Ring Light (Amazon) for $39. Click the link for current pricing. This is about average for ring lights of this size, but it does a lot more than most budget ring lights as I’ll go over in this review.

Specs and features

- 10 inch outer diameter ring
- 10 brightness settings and 3 color temperatures (3000K, 4500K, 6000K)
- Has capacitive buttons for brightness and color temperature
- Tripod included extends from 15.7 to 50 inches.
- Has a 1/4th inch thread under the ring and a 1/4th inch screw for mounting devices inside the ring
- AC adapter powered
- Bluetooth shutter remote (not for the light itself, for phones)

The Sensyne 10” Ring Light comes with:

- ring light with 1/4th inch thread
- tripod with 1/4th inch screw
- tripod carrying bag
- AC adapter (77” wire)
- phone grip
- bluetooth remote for phones
- instruction booklet

Build Quality

The actual light itself is decent quality material. Nothing super flashy, but it has a 1/4th inch screw on the ring itself to mount a camera or mic inside of it. Unfortunately, the ring is too small to fit most DSLRs.

The tripod is very high quality with a fluid head at the top to make sure it’s property balanced. The stand is overall quite sturdy and the phone grip can be adjusted to be snug to any phone. The tripod is a bit wide and bulky to use on top of a desk, but if you place it behind your desk (ideally) or off to the side you can still get good results with it.

Tried to stuff my DSLR in here. Too small. Phones work well though.

Performance

The Sensyne Ring light has adjustable color temperature and brightness using the capacitive buttons on the ring. The following are both night and daytime shots at maximum brightness using the 3 different color presets.

When used by itself, the Sensyne isn’t going to be a game changer at night, but when paired with daylight, it’s powerful enough to fill in shadows that natural light leaves. I was very happy with how well it softened out wrinkles - unlike portable LED panels.

The light is difficult to look directly at when at full blast, so keep that in mind if you intend to use this with a camera or phone attached to it. The bluetooth remote is easy to connect, and all it really does is act as a volume up button to start and stop your phone recordings and take pictures. Pretty cool though. The only real complaint I had was the buttons were a bit laggy at times.

Verdict

I recommend the Sensyne 10” Ring Light. It’s excellent value for the price. It’s brighter than most other budget ring lights, the tripod is great, and the color temperature range is good for daylight. Combined with the included phone grip that can be adjusted to vertical and horizontal orientation, this is one of the best budget ring lights for both TikTok and conventional video.

The only other thing I can ask for is some sort of clamp to attach it to a desk, but with the 1/4th inch thread on the ring, you can buy a desk clamp separately if you need it.

If you want a light that’s even brighter than this or one that comes with a desk clamp, I’ve reviewed and compared the Neewer Advanced Ring Light to the Elgato Ring Light in this article.
